Sonia's Bio
Sonia Loren was born and lives in London, England. She is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and fused her love for her work and her love for writing in her début fictional novel Dig Deeper.
My Story
As a child I loved to read. It began with playing at 'teachers' with my teddy bears. I would come home from school, line them all up on the carpet in the living room and re-enact story time. As I got older I would visit the library as often as I could and remember one of the happiest days of my childhood was getting to the age when I was allowed to take out a larger number of books than they had previously allowed me. I remember walking home with my pile of books; joyous at the number of stories I held in my hands and excited about the worlds I was about to enter through their numerous pages.
That love for reading developed into a love for writing. I was amazed by the idea that someone could put pen to paper and create a whole set of people and situations that I loved to get lost in. I wanted to try it myself to see if I could create a world that others might one day get lost in too. At age 11 I began writing short stories and didn't ever share them until I was about 16 or 17. The joy I got from creating characters and scenarios was enough for me for a while but I always thought 'One day I will write a novel and let others get lost in the world that's in my head!'
I tried writing a novel a couple of times before finally finishing my début book, Dig Deeper. Things kept getting in the way; lost notes, not having had a good storyboard to begin with. Finally, with Dig Deeper, I managed to get the preparations right and completed my first novel! If you are here reading this then maybe it is because of that book.
